Solar panel options
We recommend and supply PV panels from the below manufacturers for our custom designed and package solar systems, they are trusted brands that perform well in Australian conditions. We can supply a large range of other CEC approved PV panel brands.
A vertically integrated manufacturer, AU Optronics controls all aspects of BenQ Solar panels’ construction–from silicon ingot & wafer creation to solar cell fabrication and module assembly. In addition to conventional DC solar modules, the company also offers its own range of microinverter-integrated AC solar modules. On the project side, BenQ Solar develops large-scale solar farms throughout the world.
With their back-contact technologies, SunForte PM096B00 delivers the top high efficiency, at up to 20.3%, with power output up to 330W. It offers better temperature coefficients and better energy yield performance than conventional c-Si modules. In addition, the SunForte PM096B00 has a 34% higher rated power output than conventional modules with the same area, and saves 24% in area with the same power output.
BENQ / AU Optronics partnered with another solar giant, SunPower, in 2010 to invest in a solar cell manufacturing facility in Malaysia. AUO SunPower solar cells attain conversion efficiencies exceeding 22.5%.
BenQ Solar modules are being used in an expansion of Alice Springs Airport’s solar facilities – chosen for their performance in extreme heat conditions and low reflectivity characteristics.
REC was established in 1996 and has since grown rapidly. Today REC is one of the world’s leaders in the solar energy industry and has become one of the largest producers of solar panels. REC manufactures its own silicon, wafers, cells and modules and does extensive quality control throughout the complete production process.
Ongoing field testing of 46 solar module brands during all seasons and light conditions by Photon Magazine during 2011 determined REC solar panels to be the best performing panel; generating 6 percent more electricity on average than the other polycrystalline, monocrystalline and thin film panels tested.
REC Peak Energy modules recently underwent potential-induced degradation (PID) resistance testing (designed to damage panels) – with impressive results! The potential-induced degradation (PID) resistance test, certified by the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), subjected the solar panels to a negative voltage of 1,000 volts in an ambient temperature of 60°C and a relative humidity of 85% for 96 hours. After the gruelling test, the panels demonstrated less than two percent power degradation. REC’s solar panels are already certified to the TÜV Rheinland standards, in which a negative voltage of 1,000 Volts is applied to the panels at 25°C for a period of 168 hours.
REC Solar panels deliver more power per square meter thanks to a number of design improvements, including the introduction of three bus bars and superior contact between the cell and metal fingers, boosting the electrical flow. Special glass etching and anti-reflective coating used by REC also improves the power output of the Peak Energy Series in all sunlight conditions.
REC solar panels display temperature ratings that are best-in-class. In typical polycrystalline solar modules, the rate of degradation is approximately 0.5% per degree Celsius for temperatures above 25C. REC have decreased this to 0.4%/C – ahead of the biggest names in the industry. This feature is one of the many stand-out benefits of REC solar panels in a country such as Australia where temperatures are often above 25C.
REC also features positive watt class rating, meaning the nameplate wattage is the absolute minimum. REC modules can be up to 5 watts more than the rated power.
